                       Daily Mail and General Trust plc

Daily Mail and General Trust plc (DMGT), with effect from its AGM to be held on
5 February 2014, announces that David Verey will retire from the Board and
consequently will not seek re-election at the AGM. David Verey has served on
the Board since 2004 and is the Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of
the Risk Committee.

David Nelson, currently a Non-Executive Director of DMGT and the Senior Partner
of Dixon Wilson, will act as the Chairman of the Audit Committee on an interim
basis from 5 February 2014.
